Collaborative Works

Carla is a member of an International Beaded Flower Internet Group, which now has well over 1300 members, which includes not only United States members, but also members from many other countries. After the 9/11 tragedy, members from this group volunteered their time and talents to make beaded flowers and leaves to develop three memorial wreaths. These wreaths were donated to the three sites of this tragedy, Pennsylvania, the Pentagon, and Ground Zero in New York. These wreaths are now completed and on permanent display for each location. The Pentagon wreath is on display in the hallway leading to the new chapel in the Pentagon. The Pennsylvania wreath is on display at the Liberty Museum in Philadelphia. And the Ground Zero wreath is on display in one of the board rooms of the WTC Museum Foundation Headquarters. Carla contributed beaded flowers to each of these wreaths.

In 2008, Carla was commissioned by Thomas Grant Chandeliers to design and make a beaded Apple Blossom bouquet for a new chandelier being developed for the Arkansas Governor's Mansion's Grand Hall. The images below show the chandelier and bouquet in various stages of development and also the finished chandelier in its final setting in the Grand Hall. While visiting the Arkansas Governor's Mansion in the spring of 2009, Carla met with the Arkansas First Lady, Ginger Bebee. Here, they discussed the bouquet that Carla had made for the chandelier and also the history of French Flower Beading.
